Trekking the “W” in Winter? You Betcha!

July 17, 2017 - 1 minute read

If you thought the southern hemisphere summer was the only time to hike Patagonia, think again. Because Fantastico Sur has launched an incredible winter trekking program at Torres del Paine.

Spread across six days and five nights, the brand new “Winter W” program includes Base Torres, French Valley and the Grey Glacier Lookout, as well as a catamaran ride across Lake Pehoé. Trekkers spend their nights and take most of their meals in warm, comfy mountain refugios operated by Fantástico Sur.

Check out this video to see what cold-weather conditions in the park are like in the winter.

The rate for the six-day trek is US$1,440 per person including guide services, transfers to/from Puerto Natales, and three meals each day. Given its uniqueness — a rare opportunity to experience Torres del Paine during the cold, crisp, blue-sky days between May and August when the park is nearly empty — “Winter W” is expected to be a very popular program. So book your place now!
