Best Wildlife Watching? East Africa Scores High
January 22, 2017 - 1 minute readConde Nast Traveler’s recent photo story on The 12 Best Places To See Wildlife Up Close features a number of places around the African continent where our clients are the local experts including Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Namibia.
According to writer Paul Rubio, the Serengeti and neighboring Masai Mara are the best places to witness the great wildebeest migration that takes place in Tanzania and Kenya between July and October and December to April each year.
Without doubt, the top spot to base your close encounter with one of nature’s great spectacles is the Elewana Collection’s Serengeti Migration Camp. Hidden among rocky outcrops near the “starting line” of the great migration, the camp has become synonymous with low-impact, high-action game viewing in a landscape largely untouched since the dawn of time.
The online slideshow also lauds Tanzania as the best place to see hippos in the wild and one of the top spots to hang out with lions.
