We also welcome a pair of small luxury hotels in Santiago — the Lastarria and the Luciano K — either of which make a great base for exploring the Chilean capital before or after your Patagonian adventure, or other areas of Chile.

Set inside a restored 1927 mansion in Santiago´s trendy Lastarria neighborhood, the Lastarria Boutique Hotel is within easy walking distance of the area’s numerous museums, art galleries, hip shops, antique stores, cinemas, theatres and innovative eateries. In addition to historic architecture, the hotel features a garden with swimming pool, tasty cafe, and spacious, comfortable guest rooms, as well as personalized and friendly service.

Located in another historic structure, the 38-room boutique blends period and art deco design inside of an imposing edifice designed in the 1920s by namesake Luciano Kulczewski, a renowned Chilean architect. In addition to being Santiago’s tallest building at the time, it was also the first in Chile’s capital to boast an elevator and central heating. Among its many amenities are a gourmet restaurant, lounge bar and sauna, as well as a roof terrace with heated swimming pool and spectacular views.
