Gwyneth Goes Nordic
October 6, 2016 - 1 minute readGwyneth Paltrow is the latest Hollywood star to discover the charms of Iceland. The star of Shakespeare in Love and the Iron Man trilogy recent took her kids Moses and Apple on a blow-out five day vacation on the North Atlantic island.
Writing in Goop, her own weekly lifestyle newsletter, Paltrow said “Iceland is the kind of typographically and culturally extraordinary corner of the earth that captivates both kids and parents from touchdown to takeoff . . . Each day was brilliantly scheduled out to include multiple stops, from otherworldly volcanic craters to thermal lagoons to lush waterfalls, which sort of felt like landing on several different planets in a span of hours, with plenty of time set aside for the kids to run around and explore.”
Among the Paltrow family adventures in Iceland were quad biking on the Reykjanes Peninsula, Dinner at the trendy Grill Market restaurant in Reykjavik, whale watching on Faxaflói Bay, soaking at the Blue Lagoon, a spin around the Golden Circle to see the geysers and waterfalls, snowmobiling on Langjökull Glacier, a helicopter trip over Þórsmörk Canyon and Eyjafjallajökull Volcano, and Iceland pony trekking at Sólhestar.
