Miquel Takes to the African Skies

Miquel Alimbau Comas was recently appointed as the new general manager for SkySafari by Elewana, which offers upscale aerial safaris in Tanzania and Kenya.

With more than 12 years of experience in the tourism industry focusing on air transport and hospitality, Miquel started his career as a GSA for aviation and later spent seven years with Turkish Airlines working in different departments, including operations and general management.

Arriving in East Africa three years ago in search of new challenges, Miquel managed the Sura Afrika/East Africa Camps portfolio, a DMC with five properties and 20 vehicles across Kenya and Tanzania. He undertook a dynamic expansion of the company including the acquisition of two new properties and 10 vehicles, as well as initiating sales in new markets like Latin America.

Miquel is an fully qualified aeronautical and aerospace engineer with an executive MBA and is currently a doctoral candidate in business administration, with his research focused on Ngorongoro Conservation Area in northern Tanzania.
