Read All About It: Indonesia’s Scoops Scuba Award

March 5, 2018 - 1 minute read

For the second year in a row, readers of Dive Magazine have named Indonesia as the world’s top scuba destination. Local dive operations and resorts also scored high in the survey — Sea Hunter in the Cocos islands just beat out MV Pelagian of Sulawesi as the world’s top liveaboard dive boat, while the most popular scuba resort was Siladen in Indonesia.

Quotable quote: “Last year’s winner, Indonesia, was the clear favourite from the start, with 1,076 out of a total of 9,399 votes cast — 11.45 per cent. More than 17,000 islands comprise the Indonesian Archipelago, with a wide range of diverse habitats and species, from the pelagic visitors and strong currents of Komodo National Park to the tranquil black sands of Lembeh’s muck-diving oddities, and a wide range of everything else in between.”
