Second Ship on the Horizon
September 28, 2017 - 1 minute readGiven the enduring popularity of Iceland as a travel destination, IcelandPro Cruises is seriously looking into the possibility of acquiring a second ship to join the MV Ocean Diamond in the North Atlantic.
With an occupancy rate of more than 88% for the current season and bookings for next year already running 30% ahead of 2017, expansion of the fleet makes sense.
“The Iceland Circumnavigation is a real success,” says IPC managing director Anka Bröcker. “This summer, our third season, we had only a couple of cabins left, which makes you start thinking about expansion. We might use a second ship and cruise around Iceland the other way around. We only need to find a suitable ship for that.”
Given the length of time it takes to source, negotiate and outfit a new ship, this won’t happen until 2019 at the earliest.
