Update on VAT Tanzania from SkySafari

July 28, 2016 - 1 minute read

Good day,

As you know the Government of the Republic of Tanzania announced that as of the 1st of July 2016, VAT should be charged on some tourism services.

SkySafari by Elewana is acutely aware of the disruption that unplanned changes to taxation cause our trade partners and to your business and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

We are pleased to announce that SkySafari by Elewana will absorb the implication of the VAT increase for all new and confirmed bookings for 2016. For new 2017 bookings, rates will increase by 5%.

In summary:

  • Confirmed bookings for travel in 2016, your SkySafari pricing will not change. The new park fees will however be re-invoiced.
  • New bookings for travel in 2016, your SkySafari pricing will not change. The new park fees will reflect on your invoice.
  • Existing bookings for travel in 2017, your SkySafari pricing will not change. The new park fees will reflect on your invoice.
  • New bookings for travel in 2017, your SkySafari pricing will increase by 5%. The new park fees will reflect on your invoice.
  • The new rates sheet will be sent shortly.
  • For existing bookings, please contact your sales consultant to let us know if you prefer to prepay the extra park fees or for us to collect on your behalf.
