Fantástico Sur has a new general manager — Carlos Quiroga. Already on the job for close to five months, Carlos earned a graduate degree in business administration (with a specialization in logistics) from the University of Chile before working for several top-shelf Chilean companies including Orica Mining Services, Komatsu Cummins and ENAER  (Chile’s national aeronautical company).

When he’s not working, Carlos like to climb, run and motorbike. He’s reached the summit of Ojos del Salado volcano (6,893 meters), powered his way through the Maratón Internacional de Viña del Mar and participated in Paris-Dakar cross-country motor-sports rally in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

He’s also an avid volunteer for charity and community causes. He’s the director of the AMA Torres del Paine environmental nonprofit as well as the Amor de Papa (“Father´s Love”) charity organization. Carlos is a past head of the Chilean National Mountaineering Federation and current leader of the HYST (the association of hotels and tourist services for Torres del Paine National Park).

On the home front, Carlos is married and has three children — a nine-year-old son and twin seven-year-old daughters.
