Adventure Canada: Heading South for the Winter
September 24, 2019 - 1 minute readIt’s not all about cold places. Adventure Canada is offering an expedition cruise to Costa Rica and the Panama Canal next March— an 11-day journey along the exotic, tropical Pacific Coast of Central America aboard the MS Panorama.
The Pacific shore of Costa Rica and Panama is an explorer’s paradise. Each day offers a new discovery: a port of call, a crystal cove, a cultural experience, a glimpse of history. The region is renowned for its rainforest, charming towns, and islands abuzz with life.
The cruise begins along Costa Rica’s west coast, calling at remote national parks and tropical islands. Among the highlights are white-faced capuchin and howler monkeys in Manuel Antonio National Park, the Drake Bay winter home and breeding ground for many humpback whales, and beaches where sea turtles nest.
Continuing down the coast, the cruise includes a visit to the Embera Indians, one of seven indigenous groups living in Panama. Then it’s on to transiting the iconic Panama Canal, a bucket-list item for many travelers and a world wonder of engineering.
