Are the Andaman Islands the next Maldives?
June 18, 2019 - 1 minute readCreative Travel has announced a gold initiative by the Indian government to boost tourism in the picturesque Andaman & Nicobar Islands, developments that will help mold the Bay of Bengal territory into major tropical island tourism destination like the Maldives or Mauritius.
A series of projects on 17 islands are expected to attract upwards of US$93 million in investment funds with a proviso that project manpower must include 60% local employment.
These projects include beach resorts, glamping and camping facilities, beach promenade, turtle observatory center, mangrove interpretation center, nature trails, beach shacks, sunrise points and more.
Additionally, the government has opened bidding for seaplane service between Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep, Hut Bay and Long Island in the Andamans. a move that is sure to boost the number of people visiting those exotic outposts.
