Elewana’s Land & Life Foundation
July 27, 2016 - 1 minute readWith the majority of Kenya’s very spectacular wildlife living outside National Parks on private and community land, a strong connection between local communities and their surrounding environment is paramount to the future of beautiful Kenya’s wildlife.
Building on this ethos, Elewana’s Land & Life Foundation works towards the goal of ensuring that communities living in the vicinity of Kenya’s wildlife areas genuinely benefit from tourism. Because all operational costs are already covered, 100% of every donation received goes directly to our supported schools and communities.
Among our past achievements are raising more than US$12,000 for the construction of Esiteti Primary School near Tortilis Camp; providing free health care for over 1,000 patients at our Aitong Medical Clinics; distributing nearly 600 footballs (soccer balls) to schools in partnership with Alive & Kicking; as well as providing student shoes, books, school fees and scholarships.
The foundation also created the Wildlife Warrior Program to educate the next generation of conservationists, build a passion for wildlife among the youth who live near Kenya’s key conservation areas, and to inspire the communities we work with to conserve Kenya’s wildlife for generations to come.
