Explore Masai Mara Like a Wildlife Ranger
December 3, 2024 - 1 minute readGet behind the scenes of wildlife conservation in one of the world's most iconic safari destinations by joining a GVI Expeditions ranger experience in Kenya’s legendary Masai Mara.
During the adventure you learn about community-led conservation efforts while gaining in-depth knowledge and experiencing thrilling wildlife sightings.
Home to 25% of Kenya's wildlife, the Masai Mara is the final destination of the world's largest wildlife migration — when two million wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores fill the landscape. With 90 different mammal species and over 500 bird species, this is a biodiversity hotspot, the perfect place to take your safari experience even further.
This GVI Expedition takes you across the northern Mara ecosystem and three unique protected areas: the Enonkishu, Ol Choro Oiroua, and Lemek Conservancies. Through community guardianship and wildlife management, these areas have rebounded in their abundance of animals and thriving habitats.
Spanning seven days and six nights during which game drives and walking experiences get you hands-on with conservation activities, including a rhino sanctuary experience, big cat tracking, and bird, mammal and tree identification. You'll also visit Masai communities and markets and learn about the rich local culture.
