Horsing Around at Canyon Madness

July 2, 2021 - 1 minute read

With superb equestrian facilities and 14,000 acres to explore on horseback, Canyon Madness Ranch (CMR) in northeastern New Mexico offers multiple ways to discover your inner cowpoke.

Guests can saddle up for numerous horse-related activities including trail rides along the rim of Canadian River Canyon or through the impressive crevices of Encierro Canyon as well as equine excursions to Native American and 19th-century homestead sites.

But CMR offers much more than the common “nose-to-tail” trail riding. The ranch is home to more than 30 high-quality and well-trained mounts including quarter-horses, paints, Gypsy Vanners and Gypsy crosses that give guests a range of horse-riding experiences.

More accomplished riders can dive into disciplines like English cross-country trails and jumping or Western style reining, cutting or barrel-racing or even endurance riding. The ranch recently added draft horses for driving and launched a new program for mounted shooting on horseback.

Facilities include a covered riding arena and two stabling facilities, as well as a breeding program.

Canyon Madness offers six-day/seven-night luxury vacations and custom-designed non-vacation stays in other pre-arranged time frames. Inquiries can be directed to Grace Tian at gtian@lawbrothersgroup.com.
