Taking a well-needed break from his corporate job in Germany, an EcoTraining student explains the value of taking a sabbatical with elephants.
Taking time off from his consulting job in Europe, Sven Ringling explains why a “notorious night owl, a late riser, and a technology addict” spent two months in basic accommodation in the African bush studying animal behavior with EcoTraining.
“After 25 years as a consultant in HR technology and some particularly stressful spells in the last few years, I felt I needed a break from work and modern city life,” says Sven. “Since 2017, I’ve made several short trips to Africa and fallen in love with the profound nature experience and the diverse culture. Spending a few months in the bush away from the noise and crowds appealed to me more and more.”
