The Boutique Hotel La Yegua Loca in Punta Arenas in southern Chile believes in encouraging local talent and people who turn tradition into art because supporting local artisans is also a great way to preserve Patagonia’s stories, roots and dreams.
One of those talented people is Maria Ofelia Catalan Parada, an artisan who blends two of her earlier artistic pursuits — spinning a loom and making stoneware ceramics — into incredible woven copper earrings and necklaces.
Destiny decided that at some point her path would cross with La Yegua Loca manager Pamela, an alliance based on admiration, respect for the trade and love for authentic craftsmanship.
Today, their creations form part of the essence of La Yegua Loca, filling the hotel’s spaces with identity, culture and Patagonian tradition.
In addition to its natural beauty, copper offers a host of health benefits including anti-inflammatory properties that help relieve the pain, antimicrobial properties and energy balance.
