How to reach the three Garonga Safari Co. camps in South Africa by air or road from Cape Town and Johannesburg.

For those who want to experience the gradual transition from urban Johannesburg to the farmlands of northeastern South Africa and the wilderness bush of the Kruger region, the overland drive takes around six hours from Joburg to Garonga.

You can also combine flying and driving by catching a commercial flight with Airlink or CemAir to Hoedspruit (around 1 hour flying time from Joburg or 2.5 hours from Cape Town). From Hoedspruit, the drive to Garonga is approx. 80 minutes.

Of course, the fastest and easiest way to reach Garonga is flying all the way.

Federal Airlines offers twice daily flights from/to Johannesburg International Airport to Garonga Airstrip, a journey that takes around 90 minutes. The airstrip is five minutes from the main camp and about 10 minutes from MCH.

On request, Federal can provide a “Meet and Greet” on arrival at Joburg International that includes entry to the comfy FedAir Lounge with snacks, drinks and Wifi.
