Trekking the “W” in Winter? You Betcha!

If you thought the southern hemisphere summer was the only time to hike Patagonia, think again. Fantastico Sur offers the incredible classic W circuit during the winter in Torres del Paine.

Spread across five days and four nights, the Winter W program includes Base Torres, French Valley and the Grey Glacier Lookout. Trekkers spend their nights and take most of their meals in warm, comfy mountain refugios operated by Fantástico Sur. Given its uniqueness — a rare opportunity to experience Torres del Paine during the cold, crisp, blue-sky days between May and August when the park is nearly empty — “Winter W” is expected to be a very popular program again this year.
