June 1, 2022 - 1 minute read

Babanango Game Reserve, South Africa’s newest wildlife park, offers four unique adventures in the pristine wilderness of KwaZulu Natal.

Game Drives

Take the scenic route on morning and evening nature drives to view buffalo, impala, zebra, giraffe and kudu, not to mention a variety of birdlife.

Bush Dining

The ultimate in dining by candlelight under a canopy of stars, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness, private bush dinners offers both a gastronomic experience and the evening serenade of night birds, crickets and other nocturnal animals.

Guided Walks

Discover the microfauna and flora that call our reserve home — from grassland flowers and butterflies, to lizards, beetles and ground birds — on a guided hike. This true wilderness experience comes with the added option of visiting a copper mine.

Birding & Butterflying

Babanango’s varied habitats are home to more than 285 bird species and 32 kinds of butterflies, so bring your binoculars and life lists! Among the reserve’s noteworthy birds are nine breeding pairs of Blue Crane, Black Eagles, Lappet Faced and White Backed Vultures, Crowned Eagles and the Narina Trogon. Special butterflies include Dark-webbed Ringlet (Physcaeneura panda), Millar’s Haritail (Anthene millari) and Mocker Bronze (Cacyreus virilis).
