Whitewater Rafting Ecuador

December 11, 2024 - 1 minute read

With many different rivers tumbling down the east side of the Andes into the Amazon Basin and the western flank of the mountains into the Pacific, Ecuador offers an array of whitewater rafting possibilities.

For those staying in Quito, Enchanted Expeditions offers a one-day rafting adventure on the Toachi and Blanco rivers on the Pacific side that includes two to three hours of whitewater fun in the gorgeous cloud forest.

Those with more time (and an even more adventurous spirit) can opt for the Headwater Run, a two-day journey along the Rio Quijos through the rainforest on the eastern slopes. The overnight is spent in a remote jungle lodge with cold beer and hot showers.

Enchanted can also arrange tailor made Ecuador river rafting tours that can range anywhere from three to eight days.
