Take A Salsa Tour in Cali . . .

. . . and then dance the night away at traditional local music clubs with Colombian Journeys. Viejotecas are dancing rooms where families from Cali reunite to celebrate Salsa, Pachanga, Charanga and Boogaloo from the 70´s, 80´s, and 90´s and are the ideal places to feel and enjoy the most traditional party in the city.

The tour starts in the Jairo Varela Square, where there is a monument formed by four trumpets that spell the word NICHE. Carved below them are the lyrics of the songs written by the salsa group with the same name

Next is a visit to the Carlos Molina Salsa Museum, which features thousands of pictures of the artists that have traveled to Cali and the original song scores from “Mi Desengaño” by Roberto Roena, “Llorarás” by Oscar de León, among others. The museum offers a one-hour salsa class taught by experienced dancers.

The tour continues in the city’s Workers´ Neighborhood, where there is the statue of Piper Pimienta Díaz, composer of the famous song “Las Caleñas son como las flores.”
