If you think Bjork is all that Iceland has to offer in the way of music, then you really need to check out Pearls of Icelandic Song at Reykjavik’s incredible Harpa Concert Hall during the summer and year-end holiday seasons.

Under the artistic direction of Bjarni Thor Kristinsson, the show presents a selection of classical Icelandic songs and folk music about elves, spirits, outlaws, nature, love and much more. The singers also explain the stories behind the songs and their composers.

The songs are sung in Icelandic but are accompanied by English commentary to help foreign guests get acquainted with Icelandic music.

Tickets can be purchased on the Harpa website.

Another musical event that visitors shouldn’t miss are organ concerts at Reykjavik’s iconic Hallgrimskirjka church. Various musicians from around the world enchant visitors with fantastic organ music at a series of concerts.

Iceland ProTravel can create the perfect itinerary for those who want to include music in their visit to the magical North Atlantic island.
