If summiting a snow-covered Andes stratovolcano is on your bucket list of outdoor adventures, River House Lodge in Patagonia has a program for you — an ascent of Lanín Volcano, a 12,293-foot peak that straddles the Argentina-Chile border.

Led by certified Lanin National Park guides and their assistants, the three-day adventure starts with a night of fine food and rustic luxury at River House Lodge. Early the next morning, hikers are transported to the base of Lanín to start the trek.

After covering much of the route to the summit, the group overnights in an exclusive mountain shelter with gourmet catering. The rest of the route is covered early on day three.

After panoramic views of the Andes and Patagonian pampas far below, the group returns to River House Lodge where they can enjoy a rejuvenating spa experience, unwind in the sauna, or soak in the jacuzzi.
