A Day at the Beach — Andes Style
September 7, 2020 - 2 minutes readBefore or after your passage through the Andes with Cruce Andino, spend a day (or two or three) taking in the sun, sand and (inland) sea of gorgeous Lake Nahuel Huapi in Argentina. Bariloche Tourism offers the lowdown on six awesome playas:
Playa del Centenario
One of the widest and most popular beaches is located just meters away from the mouth of Ñireco River and close to the municipal bus station. Windsurfing and kitesurfing are popular here.
Playa del Centro
Located across from the Civic Center in downtown Bariloche, this beach features a lifeguard tower, deck with beach chairs, benches and workout area.
Playa Melipal
Located at milestone 4 on Avenida Bustillo, this colorful beach offers lakeshore rocks for kids to climb and play on. The reference point to access the beach is a gas station and local supermarket.
Playa Bonita
This beach, located at milestone 8 on Avenida Bustillo avenue, is long and pebbly. Nearby bars, restaurants and stores cater to beachgoers, and you can also rent scuba-diving gear and kayaks. Lifeguard service. Also, you can see Huemul, Gallina and Victoria islands from the shore.
Playa Serena
At milestone 12 of Avenida Bustillo is a small, quiet, family-oriented beach called Bahía Serena. The water is a little warmer than Bariloche’s other beaches, which makes it perfect for kids. Lifeguard service.
Playa Villa Tacul
Located at milestone 29 on the Short Circuit route beyond the Llao Llao Hotel, this quiet beach is flanked by woodland — although the water is a little colder than the rest of the beaches in the area.
