Dive Into Malta This Summer
April 21, 2025 - 1 minute readSubmerge yourself into one of the world’s top scuba diving destinations this summer, by exploring the underwater world the surrounds Malta, that super-cool island nation in the middle of the Mediterranean.
The three islands that comprise the sun-splashed archipelago (Malta, Gozo and Comino) boast more than 120 dive sites, a choice of both shore and boat diving, and great underwater visibility — in other words, everything you need for an awesome diving holiday.
Among the main attractions are submerged caves and rock formations like the Cirkewwa Arch, the Santa Marija Caves, Reqqa Point and the Inland Sea, reached via swimming through an underwater rock tunnel.
Wrecks are also abundant, maritime heritage treasures like the HMS Russell, a World War One British battleship sunk by a German U-boat. Among the other wrecks are the tugboat Rozi, Libyan oil tanker Um El Faroud, and the P29 Patrol Boat, which started life as a 1960’s East German mine sweeper before serving in Malta’s navy.
Malta’s warm waters also support abundant marine life from moray eels and barracudas to delicate seahorses and nudibranchs.
Whether you’re a beginner or veteran diver, MI Malta can design the perfect Maltese underwater vacation.
